Frame2 a été crée à l’occasion du FAV 2013 par deux vieux amis. L’installation qu’ils proposent est représentative de leur parcours dans les milieux de l’architecture et du cinéma. For the occasion of FAV 2013, two old friends created Frame2 to unite their abilities and experiences of architecture and cinema to create an installation. Their diverse backgrounds and experiences bring to life subtile yet moving projects that aim to integrate at all costs the context of their project at hand. Stefan Delvoye is a French American architect. He has worked on diverse architecture and urban planning projects in France, China, and the middle east. He is interested in creating form and function design that push the edge of urban and spatial norms. Victor Milletic is a French Croation. He has worked as an actor, director, and screenwriter for the cinema, television, and publicity. Originating from a family of painters, he has always had a strong interest in contemporary art and especially that dealing with in situ video installations.

Comment reproduire quelque chose d’aussi fugace ? Comment définir un souvenir ? Quelles en sont les composantes? Comme en rêve, c’est d’abord l’image qui s’impose à nous. Ensuite vient la sensation. Une cour d’immeuble est un lieu fermé, intime, d’une certaine façon qu’une cour est un lieu idéal de reproduction du souvenir. Reproduire un souvenir c’est jouer sur la temporalité. Un souvenir saisissant nous fait oublier le lieu, l’heure et la saison dans laquelle on se trouve. On est « transporté » dans le passé, le temps du souvenir. L’installation ayant lieu en été, nous désirons reproduire un automne passé. Par la présence de feuilles séchées sur le sol la simulation du vent, mais aussi la suspension d’une structure couverte de gélatines neutres et grises afin de reproduire la lumière spécifique de cette saison. Nous proposons au visiteur d’être subtilement transporté dans un autre temps (simplifié, comme dans un souvenir). L’installation fait qu’on ne change plus seulement de lieu mais également de temps.
How do you recreate something that is so fleeting? How do you define a memory? What are its components? As in a dream, it is first an image that imposes itself upon us. Then, comes a peculiar and unique sensation. A courtyard
is an intimate and closed space, the ideal space to recreate a memory. Recreating a memory is a delicate game of playing with temporality. A memory, although precise in many specific details, often leaves out the place, hour, or season in which it passed. We are transported into the subjective past: the time of memories. The installation will take place during the summer, when we’ll recreate a passed Autumn. Using dried leaves on the ground, fans to simulate gusts of wind, and drapped textiles to filter the light, we aim to recreate this season and delicately transport visitors to another time and place.
